The Lodge commands an absolute riverfront position on the southern bank of the famous Arthur River, just upstream of where it flows west into the usually pounding surf of the Southern Ocean. The absolute water front view from the living and northern outdoor areas of both units could reasonably be described as "stupendous" and certainly an absolute standout from most holiday rental properties. The setting and quality of the Lodge are emphasised by comments written in our guest book:

The recently rebuilt and substantially extended Lodge (building completed January 2008) has two apartments. The larger “Upstream” apartment accommodates up to 8 people. The “Downstream” apartment sleeps up to 4 people.



The Lodge is proving popular for larger groups of up to 12 people who can be accommodated across the two apartments. There is convenient internal access between the living areas of the two apartments, which together offer great living and cooking space for large groups, with the two kitchens and living areas combined. When both apartments are booked by the same party, a 10% discount applies. The two apartments together have received an award for the best group accommodation in Tasmania.

The unusual and stylish design of the Lodge was significantly influenced by the sprawling family "shack" from which it was developed and by the wish to showcase the view, whilst trapping the warmth of the sun. The result is an attractive, fresh, one-of-a-kind design, with interesting angles inside and out. The visual impact of the living areas is enhanced by high, raked ceilings, exposed beams and by the clean, modern decor. The northern walls of the living areas of both apartments are floor to ceiling windows. These look out on an extensive absolute water front view from west to the ocean through to east over Arthur River.

Up to two pets are allowed, provided you tell us that they are coming with you. Pets must not be allowed to wander, chase wild life or climb onto furniture, especially beds. An extra cleaning fee of $25 per stay is charged when a pet stays
